(Re-)educating poor and minority communities on the benefits of their own traditional food recipes and local medicinal wild herbs leads to a dramatic upshift in health and instills pride. This workshop introduces seminar attendees to traditional recipes and medicinal weeds that remedy specific illnesses. We aim to inspire respect for ancestral recipes, identify healthy foods in our kitchens and local shops, and safely forage in neighborhood parks -- thereby revolutionizing healing and breaking the illness cycle in a fun and palatable way. Our presentation reflects the work we do at our clinic, Vitalist Healing Traditions, local farmers markets and the Bronx and Yonkers communities we serve.
